MB Plastics specializes in the use of high-quality plastics in the field of piping systems, storage containers, fluoropolymer coatings and semi-finished products in the chemical, petrochemical, pharmaceutical and semiconductor industries and is mainly active in the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany and the United Kingdom. These markets are served by our main location in Tilburg. MB Plastics supplies to end users, installation companies, engineers, equipment builders and intermediaries. Our products protect a system and ensure that our customer can continue the production process undisturbed and safely without unexpected downtime. This leads to higher production capacity and fewer maintenance stops. We therefore give you the opportunity to safely transport and store liquids and chemicals without causing corrosion or wear.
The company has a long history. MB stands for Motherwell Bridge and was founded in 1898 in the Scottish city of Motherwell. Initially the range consisted of steel structures, including bridges. Hence the word ‘Bridge’ in the company name. In the early 1990s, MB Plastics saw potential in making steel systems in the chemical industry corrosion-resistant by using fluoroplastics (Teflon) as surface protection.
In the year 2000, the management of Motherwell Bridge decided to start a service unit with its own production in the Netherlands. This branch was named MB Plastics Holland BV. In addition to Krohne Althometer, more and more companies from the (petro)chemical industry joined the customer portfolio of MB Plastics Holland.
In 2010, the company was taken over by Tonny Berendsen and the name was changed to MB Plastics Europe BV, because the company not only has customers in the Netherlands, but also in countries within European borders. Tonny has been one hundred percent owner since 2010 and knows the market. He also worked for MB Plastics in England for three years. Since the takeover, MB Plastics has expanded its package considerably. The aim of this is to offer a complete fluoroplastic system that consists of: pipes, fittings, valves, hoses, vessels, immersion tubes, gaskets, heat exchangers, semi-finished products and machined parts.
